The Mission of the Purchasing Department is to ensure value for the City of Dayton departments by procuring goods and services at the lowest competitive price from competent vendors meeting specifications. Activities of the personnel in the Purchasing Department shall be performed in a manner that guarantees the integrity of the purchasing process, and that all vendors and City personnel are treated equitably and professionally. This information will assist in a better understanding of the process to be followed to do business with the City of Dayton and also help Vendors or suppliers understand the role and responsibility involved in purchasing goods and services by the City of Dayton. The City encourages all companies to register as vendors and to participate in the competitive process initiated by the City to enable its effective and efficient operation.
The City of Dayton is soliciting sealed bids to be received by the City Manager located at 117 Cook Street, Dayton, Texas 77535. The City of Dayton’s normal business days are Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and shall be closed on recognized holidays.
Bids will be received until 3:00 p.m. Central Time on Thursday, September 10, 2026, shortly thereafter, all submitted bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Any bid received after the closing time will not be accepted and will be returned to the bidder unopened. It is the responsibility of the bidder to see that any bid submitted shall have sufficient time to be received by the City Manager prior to the bid opening date and time. The receiving time at City Hall will be the governing time for acceptability of the bids. Bids will not be accepted by telephone, e-mail, or facsimile machine. All bids must bear original signatures and figures.
